I am a Clinical Psychologist and have worked in psychology research and practice for more than 25 years. I hold a Senior Research Fellow position at QUT where I have been involved in research of innovative treatments for alcohol use disorder, anxiety disorders, and depression. My current research focuses on digital mental health and how technology can be used to improve access to psychological treatment and enhance outcomes. Alongside my research work, I also provide clinical services through Recovery Psychology.
I draw on evidence-based approaches to help people address a wide range of mental health and wellbeing challenges. I value respect, autonomy and empowerment, and believe that therapy works best when it is person-centred and collaborative. I aim to create a supportive and non-judgemental space where we can work together on what matters most to you. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and informed by other evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.
I have a special interest in the treatment of alcohol and other addictions as well as motivation based behavioural challenges such as weight management and treatment compliance.
